Stocks Open Higher as Oil Prices Slide


NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened higher on Tuesday, as oil prices eased and insurance stocks extended gains from their rally late on Monday. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 19.32 points, or 0.20 percent, at 9,769.31. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 2.19 points, or 0.20 percent, at 1,096.99. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was up 1.82 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,915.86.
