Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is something most travelers don’t think about it, because nine times out of ten you won’t need it. When you need travel insurance, though, you really need it. And things can go wrong on trips – or before trips – that can cost you a whole lot of money if you didn’t get a travel insurance policy.
Travel insurance coverage generally starts even before the travel does. If you’ve booked an expensive cruise and Grandma keels over two days before you’re supposed to fly to the port city, having a travel insurance policy would allow you to keep peace in the family by attending the funeral and still have the money to take your trip after your family obligations are out of the way. If you don’t have any travel insurance, you’ll take the cruise and incur the family’s wrath, or you’ll lose the money you spent on airfare and the cruise itself. In either case, you lose.
But travel insurance also saves your bacon if you suffer accident, injury, or loss while you’re on your trip. If your luggage is lost, travel insurance could pay for replacement. If you lose your traveler’s checks, it’s travel insurance to the rescue. And if you have to be air-lifted out of Nairobi because a rhino gored you in the leg, thank goodness for travel insurance!
