Building Insurance
Building Insurance - Building insurance is more common in British nations than it is in the rest of the world. In the United States, building insurance needs are commonly covered under home insurance, farm insurance, or business insurance policies. Construction insurance is an important facet of building insurance, because it covers the building against weather, crime, or other mishap when the building is unoccupied during construction. One thing that many homeowners do not understand is that getting building insurance does not necessarily protect them against the loss of the building's contents. A building insurance policy may cover the damage caused to the destruction of carpets and walls during a pipe leak, for example, but it may not allow for replacement of household items that were caused by that mishap. By the same token, occupants of apartments, condominiums, and other high-density dwellings may believe they are covered against theft through the owner's building insurance policy. On the contrary, although the building itself will probably be covered by building insurance, the occupant will need a separate policy to guard against damage or theft of his personal possessions.
